Burnt Out Bartender

PLUS: So much Gratitude for you all.

Good Morning Friends. I’ll be honest with you, I am feeling the pain this week. Over the last week I have hosted 3 Events; 1 was a cocktail class at my bar, 1 was a Pop-Up Bartending Shift with my friend Oscar at JM Curley’s in Downtown Boston on one of my own two nights off, and 1 was a private dinner with Lalo Tequila on Wednesday night. All of that while running the restaurant full time and trying to film content.

Not to mention getting ready for BCB and prepping for that. You could say that I am a wee bit burnt out. Have not really pumped the brakes on anything since just after my son was born. BUT! While the newsletter this week may not be as robust and long as it usually is, there is still some cool stuff I want to share with you all!

Firstly, starting June 11th we will be serving $9 Cocktails at my bar, Ember & Alma, every Wednesday! We will be featuring 4 unique cocktails that are only available on Wednesday nights so come hang!

I also posted this video on YouTube this week:

It is crazy the different options I found at this supermarket! Insane Selection!

Just Some Thoughts

I don’t want to just sound like negative nancy.

Above, I wrote about how I am feeling quite burnt out from the last several weeks and months but truthfully, at the exact same time I am filled with so much gratitude. I am so lucky to be able to do all of these things and host these events and bring people together in this way, especially with all of the difficulties going on in the restaurant industry. Despite the long days, It makes it all worth it when I get to hear from some of you folks who traveled to one of these events or to come hang out at my bar.

On Sunday I had some guests who had driven 2 hours to come hang at my bar. On Monday at the pop-up event I did at JM Curley’s, we had a couple fly all the way out from California. And last night for our 6th private dinner at Ember, we had a full house and I had a guest (and now friend) who followed me on social media for a while bring me gifts that they printed out and labeled with photos of my face.

It’s not often that I get to sit down and reflect on how crazy cool all of that is, especially because I’m usually going at a million miles a minute, in the thick of it running a bar but it really is one of the best feelings, to be humbled and honored to have so many folks enjoy what I do, and to have so much of it stem from dumb silly videos I make on the internet. You guys are fucking incredible. All of you, and its because of all of you that I am able to pursue this crazy path that I am on. It means the world to me.

I hope to take some time off soon to recharge and come back even more dedicated to creating better content, more events and more fun times with all of you. Because while its cool that people watch my content, its so much cooler getting to meet them and hang out in real life. After all, I am a bartender. I love being on the inside side of the bar, chatting with guests and friends.

But before that, We have BCB next week! Come hang out at the seminar I am doing with Miguel & Jordan or swing by the Ensueno Tequila booth between 3-5 PM on Tuesday to try this incredible cocktail I will be serving.

I am also looking for a name for this cocktail, it has:

Ensueno Tequila, Jalapeno, Honeydew Melon, Sherry & Lime.

So if you have any suggestions please DM them to me!
